What to Expect

Sessions typically last 60 to 90 minutes and include time for:

Classic Portraits – Capture a few sweet, clean shots before the mess begins

The Cake Smash – Let your baby dive in! We’ll capture every joyful moment, from the first touch to the last crumb

The Milk Bath – A calming, beautiful finale that adds a soft and artistic touch to the session

We provide guidance on what to bring, outfit options, and prep tips to ensure your baby is happy, comfortable, and ready for fun.

Booking Your Session

Cake smash and milk bath sessions are in high demand and often booked 1–2 months in advance to allow for custom set design and planning. We recommend scheduling around your baby’s 11-month mark to have photos ready in time for their birthday celebration.

I can't think of a better way to celebrate your child's birthday than smashing a delicious cake.

The actual cake smash shoots are child led, this means we go at your children's pace. If they are getting bored we move on. If they want a break, we take a break.

I start with taking photographs of your child while still clean, so we get some beautiful shots in his/her lovely outfit.

After that I bring a cake and encourage child to dig in. Some kids go all in, and some try to be a bit more civilised ;) Some kids prefer to eat with a spoon, some eat straight with their mouth. All options are fun to watch and capture. They already show their little personalities.

Next stage is bath time, yes in the studio! They can have a good splash and get clean. I offer milk baths with fresh flowers, or tasty baths with fruit: strawberries, oranges, grapefruits and lemons.

I can order a cake matching your child's cake smash theme from a local bakery for additional £35 -£45, or you can bring your own birthday cake.

I always advise parents to take some spare clothes for themselves as kids at this age are very mobile and interested in everything which surrounds them, so they tend to run away from the set. Parents usually help me with keeping them in place and supervising while they are in the water.

Cake smash sessions can be booked for kids all ages, but the most popular ones are for 1st, 2nd and 3rd birthday.

SESSION

Your session will take place at my studio or in a previously agreed location. The session will take from 1h-2h depending o the type and location.

AFTER THE SESSION

I will select the best images from yous session, edit them and create your online gallery. You would be able to view them all and choose your favourites to create the package you like the most.
